Hi,

Im currently on 100mbit, and was expecting an upgrade around july onwards for my 120mbit upgrade.

Just logged into My Virgin Media, and its come up with a green banner along the top with a tick saying,

"You're up and running on one of our new double speed packages.
Want to make the most out of your superfast broadband?
Find out more"

But just done a speed test, and im still getting 104Mbit

and my config has not changed either, despite a reboot.

well for starters your speed isnt going to be doubled to 200mbit. You will get 120mbit and although I believe it is going to be inline with the speed doubling upgrade schedule (I have checked a link specifically for 100 - 120) some users have said they are going to wait till the whole thing is complete and then whack everyone up in one go. I can't see it happening tbh as it would be an unfair way of doing it. Everyone on the lower tiers would benefit from a substantial speed boost and those of us paying the most would be left till last.

I think they'll do the 100s up to 120 inline with the rest of the upgrades so we get something when they do, and then they'll move the 50/100s up to 120 with us at the end like they said they would so we are all on one tier.

As your for message, they have made a faux par, it isn't the first time and it won't be the last.

hi, i know its not going to be doubled lol to 200mbit.

but the 120mbit upgrade is part of their speed doubling campaign.

just wondered why the system is telling me im on an upgraded tier when im clearly not :S
some kind of mess up again... lol after the email shot fiasco before.

my guess is, once these upgrades are all complete, the 100mbit price as mentioned will drop to 50mbit current price.. then that will pave the way for a new 200mbit tier at the current 100mbit price.

or 240

No need to guess, they've already confirmed 100mb is dropping to 50mb price.

yup, i got a letter saying it would take effect from April which I am assuming is the same time the other prices go up

120meg afaik is going to happen after the double speed update, to be honest I'm pretty ****ed off with this double speed malarkey, I STILL don't have increased uplad speeds

To be fair to them, right from the start they said that the 100 to 120 uplift would happen starting from Summer rather than March.

For those areas already upgraded at 120Mbit launch Virgin will go back and take all customers on 100Mbit up to 120Mbit

Probably the same reason I get this when clicking the link in the green box.
