Are you sitting comfortably? then i'll begin..

Back in December I started getting high latency in the evening and weekend coupled with a large amount of packet loss. I had an engineer round who fitted an attenuator as my power levels were a bit high. But this didn't make any difference at all. So I called and called and posted on the help and support forum after calling the CEO office they gave me a fault number due to "high utilisation" and said it'd be fixed by the end of Jan, then Feb, now May. So I've complained again only to get a reply from the CEO office saying there was no problem and that was it. I've been unable to contact him again and have no idea whats going on.

A typical day on my connection:
Download Failed (1)

We're not hitting it hard at all. Power levels are fine. Superhub or modem only mode is no difference at all. I just feel so frustrated.

I'm on 30mbit, Superhub in Trumpington - Cambridge - CB2

I guess.. I'm looking for advice/help as it's really frustrating for it to drag on from before christmas.

Thankyou for your time.

when do you get your free speed double? capacity is said to be upgraded before those upgrades so there may be light if your ETA is close.. if not then as qas said consider switching.. is infinity available to you?

According to the checker March - April for the "double speed" "keep up".

BT infinity doesn't seem to be available.

My postcode is CB4 2QL :|

anyway so your double is due now? VM should sort out capacity soon. monitor your monitor.. keep us updated. im curious whether these upgrades are actually happening full on and its not some lame paper over cracks.

samknows bb checker has that postcode down as adsl crappy max only www.samknows.com/broadband/broadband_checker

Is that the right post code as it puts you in the travellers site at the back of regional college off kings hedges road?

You'll get around 16-20mb on BT. There's also less shaping and no daily usage caps/throttling on BT.

On ADSL? Then I have to find a lot of money to have a BT line put in also I guess. We probably use 200-250GB a month at the moment for the whole household too.

Yes, on ADSL.

BT installation is free. BT's service is also truly unlimited with no fair use limit. VM's is not.

P.S. Do the following speed test:

http://mcslhr.visualware.com/myspeed/mycapacity_10mb.html

If this shows full speeds then it's likely the problem is just congestion on VM's network. Whether that's short term (i.e. network upgrade works temporarily reducing capacity) or long term, I don't know.

I am in CB2 and the service is awful. I am just waiting for Infinity to get here and then Im jumping. I am on 50mb speed and barely get 1mb most of the time. Even measured 20% packet loss today!! Pingtest.net returns grade F, but sometimes I get up to a D (wow!!)!
