everythings fine with the levels, you should try different wifi channels, use inssider to find one that isnt being used

the superhub doesnt react well to competing signals

are you using wirelss or a cable to the shub? that makea big difference to how to diagnose your fault

i have been having the same problem dude over the last week. I lose my connection and all the lights on the modem as solid. A modem reboot sorts it out no probs, don't know what is causing it though.

ok it a conenction problem not wirelss problem so replacing shub is unliekly to fix ill post some tests tonight or tmoorrow to run gneerally you might want to run them to and psot oyur rsults i might be able to help identify you problems to

thanks andrew mate maximus tryed that on old shrub never worked

my tests are pretty deep ;) but have to be run before and during and aftea problem it helps to then say ok it was doign this jsut now, and doign this when it faulkty, and doign this after fixing, sometimes there can be a small change that might not be noticable when lookin at it during the fault but when looking at it before during and after is more obvious for example, your upstream power levle might be 55 just now so works fine, but during the porblme it increases to 56 which is normal it cant flucate but this slight increase is enough to knock you offline as i say ill post them tonight or tomorrow

the crucial data is

log into the modem

just now whislt it is working

post the downsream and upstream config pages with frequency and power levels, whenit cuts out copy and paste into njotepad the same pages when oyu cnat get online, and do the same after you reboot the shub

i suspect it more a local issue relating to the cbaling or possible even the headend where you connect but i suspect local more ie cables inside house outside or the pit where your cbales conenct including th taps, inside hosue cbales i mean the ones virign fitted

where you able to ge thte information form teh modem when you couldnt get online before you rebooted it? that is the data we need to see if there anything obvious going on

Harryn9000
06-02-2012, 11:46
the event log shows nothing since friday mate

Andrewcrawford23
06-02-2012, 12:29
ok but you said you rebooted it and posted the informaiton after reboot? did you need to reboto because oyu couldnt get online? if so when that happens again before oyu reboot the modem log in and get teh same information you did before and after reboot it could holda key to the problem i say could as until i see it it is hard ot say, events log dnt always log everything unless it is something that is revelent to it ie a flucation in power levle might not be recorded and that oculd be the issue i dnt know until i see your modem information when you cant get online

Harryn9000

the router reboot on it own mate i don't reboot it. i am online the next min i am off then back on within 2 mins. spoke to virgin tech (UK ) this morning and he said usually u get new scrub if it router fault but it clear as day that it ain't the router so got a tech fella coming tommorrow night to sort it.

Andrewcrawford23
06-02-2012, 14:17
internet rebooting and router rebootin is different, ok when it reboots next time look at the shub and note the lights on it and what there doing

Harryn9000
06-02-2012, 14:23
the ready light flashes then goes solid green.
the top light flashes green then goes blue.
the wireless light always flashes.

the ready light flashes then goes solid green.
the top light flashes green then goes blue.
the wireless light always flashes.

ready light flashing suggests it a issue with shub connecting ot the vm network, replacing the shub is unliekly to fix it, you require qa tech to investigate

mmmm ive not used the shub in ages so cant remember the pages excately there something i liek to try and get formt eh modem of the shub so please bear with me

log into the modme as normal, in the part about upstream channel look for t3 and t4 timeout what numnber are there?

Harryn9000
06-02-2012, 15:24
there isn't a page for that mate

Andrewcrawford23
06-02-2012, 15:26
can one of the vm staff member post where the t3/t4 timesout are on the shub please

but i am pretty much garantee you will needa tech to fix this issue it could be te itnernal cabling outsid ecbaling the tap or issue with the headend less liekly to be that one

Harryn9000

it would be in event log fella and it hasn't showed anything since i changed router over on friday

Andrewcrawford23

it would be in event log fella and it hasn't showed anything since i changed router over on friday

the event log does nto record it, it is different, my event log hasnt recorded anything for over 6 weeks but i have had t3 timeout in last week

Channel Type 2.0 N/A N/A N/A
Channel ID 1 N/A N/A N/A
Frequency
(Hz) 35800000 N/A N/A N/A
Ranging Status Success N/A N/A N/A
Modulation 16QAM N/A N/A N/A
Symbol Rate
(KSym/sec) 5120 N/A N/A N/A
Mini-Slot Size 4 N/A N/A N/A
Power Level
(dBmV) 52.50 N/A N/A N/A
T1 Timeouts 0 0 0 0
T2 Timeouts 0 0 0 0
T3 Timeouts 1 0 0 0
T4 Timeouts

but the event log doesnt meantion anything, you can only se ethe true timeout sometimes form some modem not all do it i can tbe sure the shub does, or tech support, they can log into the modem with r** t**** and bring up the system informaiton on the modem and see the timeouts if any

i suggest posting othe community forum and advise your getting connection rebooting and whne it does oyu get flashing ready light ask them ot look at the t3 and t4 timeouts if any of your modme/shub

Harryn9000

the scrub doesn't have pages like what u have mate. it just shows downstream and upstream in connection page and t3 time outs are shown in event log.
