There's actually two wires stuck together. One is for the phone connection and the other which connects to the STB and modem is called coaxial cable or coax. The grade used on most installs has the type name RG6 and is similar to that used for satellite TV to the point that either would be fine for both uses.

If you are asking so you can extend one or the other look on eBay for ready made satellite or cable TV extensions.

Naaah - that's only for the Superhub
the cable is rg6 (thick) rg59 (thin with lip around fitting)
the black or grey cable from outside is siameese rg6 (with thin telco attached)
p.s. if you intend to buy your own make sure it has a foil coating, i.e. not arial cable (honeycombe)
Thnx for the reply guys/girls.
Yes I was thinkin of getin a extension wire ( put the wire in the existing wire so it gets longer)
Can any1 link me to eBay/amazon link. Which wire I shud get

Here's one. It's not necessarily the cheapest or best or the right length - I used it because amongst other unnecessary bits it comes with the double ended F barrel joiner which you'll need to make it connect up as an extension.
