My 50 meg broadband 12 month contract finished with Virgin about 2 months ago at the time when I took it out the price was £45 ( Without the phone line ) the thing is the same package is know £35 ( without the phone line ) So I rang up Virgin and was told that I would have to leave Virgin Broadband for 90 days and join again after 90 days to be able to get 50MB at £35 I mean is this right ? Also 100MB broadband is available in my area and if I upgrade to that I would have to pay £10 extra on top of the £45 and the total would be £55 a month even though 100MB Broadband is £45 a month without a phone line. So I don't no if I should leave Virgin for 90 days and then join them after 90 days and go for the 100MB at £45 ? Please can someone help me is there any other way around this ? I don't want to use Dial Up for 90 days :( Thanks

Surely virgin HAVE to sell you 100Mb for £45 as thats the nationally advertised price and even quotes the price HERE (http://pressoffice.virginmedia.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=205406&p=irol-newsArticle&ID=1572617&highlight=).

Every new 100Mb broadband subscriber receives a custom built, energy efficient, combined modem and wireless ‘N’ router5, which has the potential to deliver speeds of up to 400Mb as new services roll-out in the future6. The new ultrafast service costs as little as £35 a month7 when taken with a phone line, or just £45 per month when bought as a sole product.

Call retentions, they will sort you out, choose the thinking of leaving us option. They hopefully will give you 100meg for the same price your paying for now.

Ask the C/S Rep to show you the nationally advertised £55 price point for 100Mb.

Thanks guys they say it's only for the new customers 50MB at £35 and not for the exciting ones they just have to keep paying what they are well my 12 months are up so I have a choice of leaving them which I do not want to. Also does anyone have the number to the retentions ? never heard of them

Just phone 150 and choose "thinking of leaving us". We were paying £37 a month for 20meg. Called retentions and got the 50meg deal for £25 a month.

But you also have to realise they could (even though there is a good chance they wont) call your bluff and accept you leaving. If they, do just leave and go back 90 days later and get yourself a cheap wireless net dongle (as little as £10) for the 3 months if you can manage with basic surfing for that time.

Of cause you could always leave and re-join quicker by gettiing your partner or another member on the household to join in there name. I dont know if the 3 month rule is for the household or just the original account holder.

What they don't tell you is that it doesn't work properly on certain sections of the network. Custom built and energy efficient don't mean squat if the damn thing doesn't work properly. :D

Since we're on the subject, how about 50Mb as upgrade from 30Mb? Have M+ TV package, landline and pay £35 a month, any way to get 50Mb/100Mb for the same price or not much more?
