Okay, not crimping, but the compression type. I have these:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Snap-and-Seal-Gold-Plated-F-Connector-Bag-10-/280473175078?pt=UK_Computing_CablesConnectors_RL&hash=item414d810426

they go on the interior cables like a glove, but the black cable that comes from outside, the one which has the "double cable" with the coax and phone cable on it, I cannot 'crimp' for the life of me, the outer casing just bags up and the connector doesnt fully go on, iv tried heating it up with a lighter, but that just made a mess of it, iv thought of splitting the cable down the side to make it bigger, but I thought id ask on here first, there must be some techs who know what im on about

cheers

You should not be touching the exterior cables as you may well cause noise ingress onto the local network and issues for all your neighbours, plus you can be permamently disconnected as that is a breach of the Terms and Conditions of your contract.

If you have an issue call technical support and they will send out a technician, and lets hope that your efforts are not obvious as they may report you.
