We are planning to move to the general St. Ives/Hayle area in a couple of years.
I've had a quick look at some St Ives post codes and see that cable isn't available. I realise this is because of the way the town is, and it would be impossible to lay cables.
I was hoping it would be active on the outskirts though.
Does anyone know the general area where cable is available?
We don't really want to have to change to Sky for the TV.
This is one of the reasons I won't pay for Tivo if I can't take it with me.

Bad news. Saltash is the only place in Cornwall that's cabled.

But not all is lost. VM management have made it clear they have ambitions to bring TV to non-cabled areas, and TiVo is likely to feature.

VM did an off-net IPTV trial (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/10/08/vm_cornwall/) in Saltash a couple of years ago. Don't know how successful it was.

There is an extensive fibre ring in Cornwall but no residential service unfortunately, the closest access network is Plymouth. Its unlikely that service will extend any further West than this unless the PIA agreement with BT is approved but that may still be a few years down the line.

Why not move to the other St Ives, you can get Cable there and you won't have to move so far from Sandy :)
