Just looking now in regards to cost in the household, at the moment we spend on average per month around £120+ for TV and Broadband, want to cut this down really, got most of the channels but love the movies and sports (think this is where my package goes above and beyond!) Just did some research on the freeview website, says I can have 40 Channels included aswell as a Pay as you view basis for movies and sports? hasn't quoted me a price though, anyone used this service and made the initial switch? :erm:

Freeview is not a pay service, nor does it have any pay per view channels. Services like BT vision (http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumerProducts/displayTopic.do?topicId=32146) use the streamed channels from freeview to supplement their VOD services, which are provided via BT broadband. There is also Top-up TV (http://www.topuptv.com/) which runs a very basic overnight download service of programmes plus a couple of extra streamed channels. The only stand alone sports channel you could subscribe to is ESPN, as Sky Sports 1 & 2 are provided for the previously mentioned subscription services. The only film channel available is Film4.
