I know there are tons of folk on here who know stuff about mobile phones, so I hope someone can help. I didn't know which topic to place this in, hope this finds some responses.

DHs company are just upgrading him to an iPhone 4, and he can keep the iPhone 3GS, so he says I can have it :)

It's currently locked to O2. I have a Vodafone contract on my ordinary Nokia phone, contract has about 8 months to run I think. I need to keep my number, as I use it for my business.

Sooooo. Do I keep the iPhone in a drawer until my Vodafone contract ends , then swap my number to O2.:td:

OR is it possible to get the iPhone unlocked and use it with my Vodafone contract

OR would Vodaphone allow the balance of my contract to be switched to another number, so that I could give my phone to our son, and shift my number to O2 ??

Thanks for this, I've forwarded the link to DH, to see if the company can get it unlocked before his new one arrives.
