Anyone else? Service status says good - no it's not!

Service status only picks up area problems. If the issue is with your line, or your street, it won't say anything.

You're going to have to call them to report the fault.

Yep, if your whole cab or a good portion are off, then there will be a status post.

If it's not an individual issue, then possibly a mux card with 20-30 customers on.

What do you get (from the callers side) when you line is called?

No incoming calls either. Nothing. Nada!

What does the caller hear though?

1) engaged tone

2) ring tone

3) a long dead tone

:)

If you can call tomorrow morning as soon after 0800 as possible on 0845 454 1111 and the agent will call you back once they know you are on a mobile and they will be able to check the line and advise if it is an area issue or that an engineer is required.

more likely a fault just on your line then. I've just checked your area and so far there are no reported outages.

Some faults require 3 customers to call in on the same mux before they are picked up as an outage. Especially with your fault, which we would class as RTNR (ring tone, no reply).

Support should have called you back straight away too! I'd call back again.

Sounds like you need an engineers visit to sort out your issue, you could try again today or call tomorrow from 0800 when we are back on the phones.

Engineer is booked for Tuesday. Will I be refunded line rental for days without service?

You should have asked but if your line rental is £12 per month and they divide that by 30 and multiply by the days without service it will not be a lot.

So engineer was due today between 4-7. He has 15 minutes to get here. What happens if he is a no show? Do they work to the time or the job sheet? Not happy as I had to take time off work to get home in time.

Rang support...i will call you back in 10 minutes...that was half an hour ago. Very disappointed with the situation. Will be looking for some kind of recompense due to lack of service, poor service and wasting my time off work.

I called again in the morning. A lady in Sheffield apologised and gave me 10 pounds off my bill but did not say why engineer did not come. They came today, Friday and fixed the fault. It's not really all's well that ends well. I am now 2 hours down at work for having to come home from work to not have anyone turn up. There was no offer of compendsation or recompense for my wasted time, just a bit off the bill for lack of service. Not great, is it?

Not good service at all and VM will charge you £10 if an engineer comes and nobody is home.

I wonder if the agent who keyed in the order made a mistake? The £10 is the compensation, VM don't send out cheques unless the account is closed. they will only credit your account.

Glad it's sorted now.
