Having had 50mb just installed, up and downloads seem ok but downstream power level is lower than recommended on the sticky, should I leave it or have it tweaked.

dBmV 8.36 8.33 8.14 8.08 is high
RxMER is OK

So what part of the sticky says there levels are too low?

You still need the D/s power levels correcting though.

Here is a Sticky for 50Mb power levels across all platforms

Downstream

* Knowsley networks using QAM64 are: -7 to +3 dBmV.

* Knowsley networks using QAM256 are: -3 to +7 dBmV.

* Langley & Bromley networks using QAM64 are: -10 to 0 dBmV.

* Langley & Bromley networks using QAM256 are: -4 to +6 dBmV.

Upstream

* Upstream signal levels (from the modem) should be between 34 and
55dBmV.

I find if I copy and paste into note pad then copy and paste from there to the forum it works OK.

Downstream SNR: Minimums are 24.5dB on the Langley platform and 26dB on the Bromley platform. Again these aren't the minimums required to function but when you're down this low you're teetering on the brink of losing your service.

Downstream Receive Power: Ideally +/- 3dBmV, cause for concern at around +/- 8dBmV,

Am I reading the wrong part

Yes you are. SNR is shown a RxMER on the 50Mb modem stats so yours being between 37.36 and 38.26 across the streams is quite good.

Your receive power levels (dBmV) being above 8 is not good.

OK thanks thats fine, also I did paste the stats straight from the page and it looked perfect on the thread but obviously went wrong when it was sent.

Happened to me when I first posted and was given the same tip I've given you. Worked fine since then. ( I think it could be that that stats page is a web page).

One thing to check as I couldn't really decypher it is the correctable/uncorrectable codewords are looking on the high side as well which could point to a connection problem.

Can you repost your u/stream d/stream stats in a readable form?

Perfectly legible when you know what you are looking at.;):D

Downstream receive power on the high side and may need an engineer.

Call the 50Mb Support Line on 0800 052 0431

Your Upstream power levels would be of interest.

If it's working as intended it's fine, no point in worrying.

Masque, you smarty pants:D

I knew what I was looking at! RxMER OK dBmV at +8 too high!

Igni whereas I agree if it's working it is not too much of a worry I would think that D/s level is an accident waiting to happen, so get it sorted sooner rather than later.

Power Level

Way to low and you need an engineer.

This appears perfectly, As Masque said, youneed an engineer to sort out the levels.
