Hi
Both V+BOX AND MODEM have gone off again ive lost count how many times its been off this last 3 mths, ive got to get something done about this and get a CREDIT for the lost time do you now who i speak to?

What i have is:-

32" sony tv
VIRGIN PHONE LINE
Ambrite modem
VIRGIN V+BOX
TRATEC FDU-61 AMPLIFIER
50Mb download speed

My internet runs from my pc to modem to amp to the wall.

Now if i was to route it through the V+BOX and forget the modem,From PC to V+BOX with ethernet and out through the "F" connection to the wall, would i have a phone line that i could use with it BT,TALKTALK or somebody like that that needs the dedicated phone connected to them (once i had asked virginmedia to link it back to BT).

I now it would be slower 20Mb but then ill get BT or someone to put an internet line through the phone line giving two internet lines to use ,one line or the other line.I would need 2 ethernet connections that's no problem.
Then if virgins not working id use the other one.
Would i have of ring VIRGIN up and tell them that im not using the modem anymore would they have to reactivat it or is it done already.
If i dont reply its coz im offline again

Can somebody tell me how i can phone an english speaking help line on VIRGINMEDIA instead of the INDIAN speaking people in india?

You can only get broadband with a modem the is no way to use a set top box.

Your V+ box has a ethernet port on the back but it is disabled and we no longer support broadband via set top boxes as you would be lucky to get 4Mb.

The telephone line has nothing to do with the broadband side and comes in on a separate cable.

As you are on 50Mb the best time to call would be tomorrow after 0800 and the number to call is 0800 052 0431.

OK thanks a lot do you mean tomorrow "bank holiday" or tuesday.
Do you mean i can or i cant use the phone line as i asked,sorry to be a pain.

They work on Bank Holidays so tomorrow means tomorrow. You cannot get BT to put internet through your VM phone line, you must have a seperate BT line.

50Mb Support from a UK agent is Monday to Friday 0800 to 2000 and Saturdays 0800 to 1600 and we work Bank Holidays, at any other time you will most likely get Scotland up to 2200 or India.

Surely Masque you mean most likely India, Scotland if you're lucky.
