I use my broadband to basically play one online game, and at around 10pm recently and after, i seem to suffer extreme lag.

Someone suggested I raised this in a new thread with the below info, would appreciate any help, as very frustrating: (Below taken @ time of posting 17.32)

Hi Connor

I'm the one who suggested you open your own thread and I'm surprised that no-one has responded yet so I'm bumping it for you.

That said have things changed or is the problem ongoing?

Your up and down levels look OK so there may be an underlying problem elsewhere. I think Seph is the man to guide you further.(he's like a jack russel at times:D:D:D)

Perhaps as a test it would also be handy for me to post what I did previosly in terms of up and down bandwith tests, after 10pm when i normally suffer the slowdown/lag the most?

They can then be compared with the original numbers i posted.

It certainly wouldn't hurt.

Someone will help you here and give you good advice, I would also say that someone who works for Virgin Media over on that community forum will check out your settings without you having to do a thing, and will send details to the network engineers, and or arrange an appointment if they think it's necessary.

Or VM will just tell you it's due to a load increase in the evening and won't do anything about it.

Hi Connor, looking at your downstream receive power level, it looks borderline at -5.9dBmV to me, and the sticky suggest's -6 dBmV is the acceptable limit.

Also Ive never seen that "New UCD in effect" in the modem logs before and I don't know if it points to an issue. It could be indicative of a problem though.

Given the time you mention, it could be that everyone starts downloading stuff after 10 pm to avoid VM's traffic management Policy, and subsequently saturates your line.

What speeds do you get before and after 10pm

Please take a look at my event log, my Upstream transmit Power Level has gone up from 54 to 55.5 dBmV, and look at all these t3 time-outs, again the speed has gone down.

So is there anything I can do to resolve this?

You need to answer the PM that the VM techies sent you and let them diagnose your circuit and report.

Your downstream isn't healthy IMO although one can't be certain that there aren't other issues. The stats don't provide enough clues. Maybe you've got more recent data to post.
