Hi, I have 10mb broadband size large and am on the Acton exchange. From what I understood from their website, there is no download restriction 3-4pm and after 9pm.

I downloaded 1.8gb at 3pm which finished about 3.30pm. I switch my pc off then go out. Then at 10pm, I download something and immediately I am speed restricted. This has happened a few times whenever I have downloaded more than 1.5gb between 3-4pm.

I can't find anything on the Virgin traffic management website about restrictions during this time. I don't believe it's congestion as whenever I don't download something at 3pm and start something at 9pm, I get the full download speed limit.

I don't download a lot, maybe 500mb a day on average over the course of a week.

Are there some new restrictions in place which they haven't advertised?

I have already seen the traffic shaping Virgin website.

Acton is under a trial and it states:
http://allyours.virginmedia.com/html/internet/traffictrial_otherareas.html
Daytime Management
Downstream
When does it apply?
10am - 3pm
3000MB

Evening Management
Downstream
When does it apply?
4pm - 9pm
1500MB

So surely if I download 1.5gb at 3pm then start again at 10pm, I should not be hitting the threshold? And if I did download too much at 3pm then I should still not be capped at 10pm?

My speed is back to normal now, after I woke up.
