For those in Swansea who are experiencing slow issues especially in the City Center and Brynmill\uplands areas there is an ongoing issue with power levels on the upstream of the network which is currently with the planning team atm. This could be the cause.

This is what i was told on the 9th on the newsgroups...
"The issue is being caused by high upstream utilisation, this has been
passed to our Planning team to schedule the necessary work needed to
resolve this issue. The date will be scheduled as soon as possible.
The reference for this is F001127894."

The areas affected i was given over the telephone earlier today.

Just FYI an upstream, even one that's oversubscribed, has perhaps 100 modems on it tops - it's a pretty local fault. They have probably given you the area that is on the entire bonded downstream group which will have 4 upstreams serving it.

Also it's not related to power levels the upstream is just congested as was mentioned in the newsgroup post you were quoting. Too much data and not enough bandwidth. Nothing to do with any power level fluctuations, network noise or the phases of the moon just too many modems pushing too much data. Looks like as soon as the students came back they felt like getting some seeding going again.

I can see you asking on the newsgroups every day when there will be a fix. You are probably wasting your time doing this the fix is probably not quick as it will require resegmentation or significant network work given historical noise issues in the area.

If it's a major, major issue I'd consider checking out Sky's latest offer.

Good call, I reckon.

... isn't so good. As Broadbandings pointed out in post 2:

Given that this entire thread was based on a false premise, it's more apt to cause confusion for people in Swansea than to be a source of info. Therefore ...
