As the title say, i just wondered where the fibre optic cable ends and the copper wire begins??

Is it done at the green box on the street as the closest one to us is on our street about 80feet away.

Phil.

So i understand it it starts at the green box and ends at your local exchange. Then starts again inside your home.

But then i may be wrong, but im sure someone else will be along and correct me if im wrong lol ;)

It's done at a green box somewhere in your local area, no reliable way to tell unless you actually open the box and look for fibre though.

Don't worry, the coaxial link is amplified so that distance isn't a real issue.

Mmm have a look at the cable in your home, compare it to this (http://www.thetechherald.com/media/images/200815/Fibreoptic__top.jpg) and this (http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/graphics/infolib/homelib/h75ohmCoaxialConnector.jpg) and see which it looks most like ;)

Yes, what goes into your home is coaxial cable (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coaxial_cable).

Here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hybrid_Fibre_Coaxial) is what VM's network looks like.
