We have had the VIP pack installed with Broadband speed up to 20meg from 10meg but its still showing the speeds of 10meg so would like to know how long does it take to go up to 20meg as when i asked the chap that came to fit other box that it will take about a hour but its now over 3 hours since he left.

Have you re-booted the modem?
Un-plug the power to the modem for a minute then plug it back in and try your speed when all the lights have settled.

You need to reboot for the modem to get its new config file.

Done that and the Upstream speed has gone up a lot but not the Downstream.

Im using Think broadband speed test.

I use www.speedtest.net to get a result and then it can be coppied by left clicking the "copy forum link" then right click on the message box to which you write your message on here and it will be shown as text until you have posted the reply and you will see the result like thishttps://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/local/2010/01/73.png (http://www.speedtest.net)

The data config pages are found in http://192.168.100.1 (root and root are the username/password)

Looking at the speedtests though you are on 20Mb (700Kb upstream) and you;ve either got a signal problem (post your up/down power levels and SNR from the modem pages (not the MAC or serial though)) or your in an area of high usage

Power Levels are

Downstream Receive Power Level : -6.7 dBmV

Upstream transmit Power Level : 46.0 dBmV

13 Mbps during peak time on a 20 Mbs service; not bad!

Anyway, your downstream power level is a tad higher than is considered ideal. If it's always stable at that power level and outside of peak hours you get close to 20 Mbps, then don't worry. Otherwise report it.
