I am using a Netgear WNR854T Rangemax router.
I have several laptops connected wirelessly, no problems.
I have one desktop which is connected with Ethernet via a Belkin Powerline HD. This was working fine until a couple of weeks ago, and now has stopped working (limited or no connectivity message).
I tried connecting a laptop directly to the router (via ethernet) and this does not work either, so looks like a router problem.
Any ideas ?

What are the LAN settings on the router? It'll be on the status page. As a guide, mine (on a Draytek router) are something like this:

MAC Address : 00-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx
1st IP Address : 192.168.1.1
1st Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0
DHCP Server : Yes
DNS : 194.109.6.66

You'd want to see the VM DNS address and if not there, something's wrong.

Well it's all there as it should be. So it could be the router's ethernet section that's faulty. I don't know what else to suggest other than to describe a probably dissimilar incident I had yesterday.

I was on the internet and messing around with router ping blocking settings. As a result, all router access to the cable modem ceased. I didn't try the wireless link because I switched to my ADSL2+ O2 standby service. So I took a spare laptop to the modem/router location and looked at the router settings. It was all there, just like in yours. But the DNS could not be resolved so there was limited connectivity. I reset the router to factory defaults, did all the modem on/off stuff (wait a couple of minutes) and it still didn't work on the particular laptop.

But back in the ofccie (via powerline), the original PC from which I was messing around was now connected to the internet. The router and modem resets had done the trick.

Now I'm more or less savvy, you're savvy and we still get these difficult issues right in front of our noses.

Let us know.
