Lost connection

Hi,

I live is bristol and have just lost my connection at around 12.55am.
There are no issues in my local area,but there are issues in the south like GL1.
Could the problem in GL1 affect my area.

I have done the usual checks,still no connection on the modem,the green light only flashed once or so.

Phoned Virgin,they are sending an engineer tomorrow morning.

So what do you think?.
