I've had to go through the morning resets for the best part of a month, tech support have continually either dropped my calls ( after 40 or more mins on hold) or stated there was an area wide issue?

any help appreciated

cheers

It might help to know where you are located. For example, if you're in/near Barnsley as well as the other person, we might be able to start piecing things together.

Is this the only time of day that the modem resyncs? How long has this been going on for? Can you post the entire Event log as it currently stands, please?

EDIT: I've just looked at the other morning thread and I believe there is a hard problem there. So the barsnley question is not relevant but it is useful to know where you are in case there is some correlation available (even in other forums).

what drew me to replying to this thread was this log entry;

"Information (7)locked and synced to rescue CMTS...all is well!"

for what it is worth here are my thoughts...

I had an ongoing problem for quite a while that was beginning to get on my nerves, I was having to reboot my firewall most mornings for more than a month.

Then I started to notice the cable modem had an issue with the ready light flashing, most times a reboot of the CM fixed it but on one occasion I was offline for an entire day before it came back.

The flashing ready light then became a regular occurence and at various times of the day.

I too had similar logs entries in the CM as you are getting.

I had my modem replaced after some intense phone calls with CS (they posted it out to me and I switched it out) and since then I have had no issues.

Hi Rob,

Loss of downstream is very very rarely a nationwide issue. It would take a amp to fail, power fail to cause a nationwide issue and there would be thousands of customers affected.

Loss of downstream is most often caused by a local issue and will need a tech to check it out. Since you've gotten nowhere with 1st line may I suggest news group support.
