Around 3/4 weeks ago i sent an email to Virgin Media regarding their press release about the 500,000 homes that are in non cabled areas; and could possibly be cabled up to the network. I live on a new housing estate and we only have a poor connection with BT, we live relatively close to the exchange and the streets around us have cable.

Virgin passed on the information to the Local New Build Officer but i have not heard anything since.

I know these things can take time but what time period should i be expecting to wait?

they never reply. unless they in the road on postcode search.
off the record , i only found out when i rang police as blocked my drive .
no leaflets was posted .
manger come out and give me £100 so they could install the pipe in path.
3 week after i got installed .

Their plan to cable up 500,000 is supposed to take years, not weeks. Asking them to add your street to the network expansion plan isn't the same as asking the spotters to approve your address because your neighbours have cable but you've somehow been missed off the database in error.

You're going to have to be very patient and get ADSL in the meantime, even if it's not very fast.
