Slow at Weekends - Normal?

Yesterday I had the 20mb added to my existing TV package.

Speeds yesterday and early this morning were very good averaging approx 18mb - this afternoon though is a different matter - lucky to make 0.5mb now and everything is taking an age to download!

Is this typical of the Virgin service at weekends or could there be some other problems because tbh this is pretty much useless to me as it is?

its typicly slow at the weekends currently i have 3mbit on my 10mbit connection
i think its only going to get worse today due to englands online only football match

Mine is normally a solid 9.8mb, but nearly always drops to 4 or 5mb on a Sunday. It also sometimes happens on a Monday or Tuesday evening. Probably the kids home from school having a gaming session.

Obviously not a lot watchin the footie round here, just had my best speed since upgrade!
