Hi Guy's
Looking to upgrade my broadband connection, although got some questions.

I currently have a Motorola Surfboard SB4200 modem, does this support 50mb?

Also,do they come round and set up the router to the modem, or can i choose a self install if my modem supports it, as all they are doing is changing some wires, just like my upgrade to the V+ box a couple of months back in the house like 25mins and job done.

Also, is it better calling CS to inquire about this or would it be less hassle upgrading using their site, as i do not want to speak to a off-shore CS again, to be honest i think they cause more hassle than they are worth for the people working on the ground.

i appreicate any information and help

they will replace your modem as that 1 i dont think will work for 50 meg
they will aso have to come out and make sure signal levels are ok and yes they will connect it all up for you including the free router they give u
i know at the moment theres a connection fee and also a install charge

Modem is an Ambit 300 - looks very nice too.

Router is either a Netgear WNR2000 or a D-Link 615

Ok, So i would need to replace my fantastic Motorola modem for a ambit modem,
is the build quality of the ambit modem on par with Motorola?

Also would you recommend calling CS to inquire or would you suggest their website?

I miss the surboard and its ability to reset it from the interface how hard is that to implement. Stupid ambit making me climb up the attic :P

Fair enough. Get one of those 'Power Saver' switch sockets with the RF remote - switch it off and on at a distance ;)

What's this got to do with an upgrade to XXL?

Maybe because he'll need a new modem and won't be able to use the Surfboard?
