Hey

browsed this forum for a long time and finally thought to register. Basically over the last 48 hours my 50mb has crawled to a halt. Top speed from newsgroups (giganews) is 11.4mb and while downloading google etc takes about 30 seconds to open.

Using a Dlink DIR 655 Gigabit router and am on my second modem allready. Was fine 2 days ago. Im in Glenrothes Fife so if anyone else is having issues would be nice to know.

Here are the stats I think I have to post. Are the amount of uncorrectable codewords an issue or the power?

Cheers all

Your power levels are within operational parameters so if your speeds have dropped that much i would call the dedicated 50Mb team after 0800 today on 0800 052 0431 so they can check out your connection for any issues.

Thanks for the number bud will give them a call tomorrow. They have been better today back upto 48 but still dropping all over the place.

Update to the issue.

Internet still grinds to a halft occasionally. Had several engineers out who changed where I was in something out the back, Fitted some attenuator to the modem cable. Which solved the issue and brought my levels down to near perfect he said. No errors or disconnections for weeks no uncorrected codewards. Now 2 months later. Same thing again. So do I get back onto them again or is it possible the attenuator is causing the issue?

Your power levels are still fine so you may need to call in for them to run some checks on your connection.
