For several years I've run a home network (incl wireless) using a Linksys WRT54G router and this has never caused any problems. Been awayt for a week and come back to find that PCs on the network can't access the internet. I've tried rebooting both modem and router without joy. Can traceroute web addresses via router but can't access the same sites via IE.

If I connect pc direct to modem then can access internet. Therefore question is have VM changed any settings which means that my router can't communicate with the VM network anymore or has my router bust and I need a new one?

Might be your router - can you borrow another to test that?

Don't have access to another router but may get a "N" router and see what happens...

Are the VM supplied routers "improved" in anyway from the D-link standard setup?

Most routers will have screens showing WAN side status. Are you getting an IP on the WAN side? Can the router ping out? Anything in the router's logs?

Yes can see an IP address for the router and can get the router to ping out.
