Had this issue for the past few weeks, pretty much ever since I received the upgrade from 2mb to 10mb for free. Every so often, couldn't put a timer on it my internet connection drops and then reconnects, I've investigated the Event log(modem = NTL:Home 200) and the main suspected culprit seems to be: "Started Unicast Maintenance Ranging - No Response received - T3 time-out" - As per the event log this was the most recent Event aswell as the count on it being over 60,000. I'm not a wizard with broadband so I'm not sure if this is good, normal or horrific, however my speeds have been very bad also - I have been lucky to reach my old 2mb speeds most of the time. Here is my upsteam/downsteam status:

Downstream Lock : Locked
Downstream Frequency : 402750000 Hz
Downstream Modulation : QAM256
Downstream Interleave Depth : 32
Downstream Receive Power Level : 0.1 dBmV
Downstream SNR : 28.5 dB

Upstream Channel ID : 3
Upstream Transmit Power Level : 40.0 dBmV
Upstream Symbol Rate : 2560 Ksym/sec
Upstream Frequency : 34000000 Hz
Upstream Mini-Slot Size : 2

Thanks in advance.

ignore the modem logs, the most significant stat is the SNR, which at 28.5 is arguably too low :)

I have just taken a speedtest.net reading as of now, and all I can say is that this connection issue is puzzling - So far this morning my internet connection has not dropped at all and I just got a speed measurement of:

As homealone says, do focus on the SNR. When you report a speed to us, it would be helpful also to post your SNR at the same time. I would sandwich the SNR reading between two speedtests to make sure your report is based on stability at the time.

Also Maidenhead is a sh*t speedtest location, consistently reporting low speeds. It's well reported in this forum and London might be a better choice of test server. I get twice the speed reported from London than Maidenhead.

Are you in the north east area?

My connection is dropping quite often now.

I recommend you set up your own thread and provide a town or post code.
