im not sure if it's just my section or many baguley/ manchester UBR connected 10Mbit/s, but for the last few mornings after around 3AM+ im seeing STM like speeds in both download Usenet (several providers) and degraded upload speeds.

at first i thought it may be on permanantly, but No it was full speed at 4PM last night for both Usenet ipv4 and ipv6 and binary FTP from the usual VM internal amd external usenet/ftp servers...

in both windows and slax liveCD booted OS's so its not my end.

anyone else seeing this or is it known if VM are messing around again with some new STM restrictive kit/policys in the baguley area?

turning On STM type speeds at 3AM+ is way passed acceptable VM, after we have been forced to adapt for the daytime and evening STM slots already for so long.

i have noticed degraded upload speeds but i dont know if its due to the fact i have a problem with upload atm and technician is due tomorrow so will keep an eye.

Im still waiting on the 10Mb upgrade (Newton About) and everytime i run speedtests @speedtest.Net plus on here i get stupid results Im on 2mb package Dsl cable modem

These results appear to be quite fast - this page could possibly be in your browser cache.

Repeated: & it came back at the same speeds tryed on speedtest.net and it comes back at the highest speeds 60,70.80Meg

Ever since back in May ive been getting speedtests like this but my average speed is 250kbps
