give better streaming etc?
Thinking of increasing to 20m BB (another post)
Will I really benefit by increasing my speed, I don't play games online (except Bejeweled on FB), the odd download. Just the usual 'stuff' really.
OH plays poker online, that's about it really.
It will cost me an extra fiver.

No it doesn't, no streams fill up a 10Mbit connection let alone 20. I don't see much value to you upgrading from what you describe there.

I do not regret going down from 20 to 10. It seems to me the speed a web page opens is governed by many factors outside your control.

Very much so. A lot of it is in things like DNS lookups (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domain_Name_System). In addition because of the way cable works you get your bandwidth in bursts so if a web page is below a certain size all tiers of cable service will be able to download the whole thing in the same amount of time.
