How do you make it? Just fry it & stir it up (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6U-TGahwvs) with a bit of Reggae Reggae sauce? :erm:

So, as you 'take it out of the box' you don't cook it yourself then. Is it from a well known supermarket or just the local takeaway?

I tried some of the Reggae Reggae sauce with apple in it the other day, it was surprisingly nice - I thought it would be quite spicey but it was just mildly spicey tomato sauce, with not too big chunks of apple (presumably) and a wicked & interesting kick! :tu:

The guy who makes this was on Dragons Den last year, that arrogant Scottish idiot Duncan Banatyne said his idea wouldn't work, how wrong was he??

Russ

If it did there'd be less RRS in the bottle. And that would be a crime.

I like the Reggae Reggae Sub.

I was also thinking at the weekend of marinating pieces of chicken in it for the BBQ.

The name comes from the fact that it was created for a competition in Jo'burg (I think round the beginning of the 20th century) as a sauce to go with steak and they wanted a name that would attract attention.

Actually got half a bottle of it in the fridge and it's a brownish sauce with a high fruit and spice content that can be used as a pour over, marinade or cook-in. The main fruit in it is peaches and apricots.

You can get it at most SA shops and I got this jar in St Marcus, Barnes, London

Would i be ruining a leg of lamb for todays roast by applying some of this over it , i did try some on steak on friday reggae sauce i'm on about not monkey stuff  it tasted not too bad as well. Also when applying rosemary and mint to the lamb is it ok to rub it in a few hours before the cooking time , i can see this being a interesting sheeps limb.

Russ

Reggae Reggae Sauce is a Jamaican jerk spice (http://www.cableforum.co.uk/wiki/Jamaican_jerk_spice) (jerk meat or fish sauce), popularised by creator Levi Roots (http://www.cableforum.co.uk/wiki/Levi_Roots)' appearance on BBC2 (http://www.cableforum.co.uk/wiki/BBC2)'s Dragons' Den (http://www.cableforum.co.uk/wiki/Dragons%27_Den_(UK)).
