Hey guys,
I've been trying to download from both the Sony Station Launcher and Fileplanet today and I can't seem to break 100kb/s on my 20Mb connection. On the other hand, my Usenet connection to the european Astraweb server is running at 2400kb/s. Two of my mates, one in Bradford on Zen ADSL and another down in Cheltenham on Virgin Media are both getting decent speeds (they downloaded the EverQuest 2 trial from the Station Launcher in around 4 hours, where as mine estimated 22 hours...).
I've tried from behind my router, from a direct connection to my modem, everything, and nothing changes. I can't seem to break 100kb/s no matter what I try, and I'm even a Fileplanet subscriber (I've tried another file from a European fileplanet server and received a paltry 400kb/s).
Anyone know if there's something potentially wrong here, or am I just hoping for more than Virgin Media can supply?
