Same speed after update

Hi, i recently updated to 10mb from the 2mb upgrade and it just completed today. I started downloading and i got 1.1mb/sec then later on ive been getting 256 max like before, and it's still at 256kbs. Speed test says i get 1.1download 0.6 upload.

Steam client, first it was 1.1mb/s then i tryed again and it's 256 like before and it's not changing.

Have you powered down your modem and then repowered it. Sometimes that works.

Don't know what that is, if you mean turn it on and off then yes i have.

Just because your speed is 10Mb it doesn;t mean to say that you can download at 10Mb from everyone...

Places like Steam restrict speed based on how many users are using the system, also other places might have abottleneck between you and them... Quite simply you can only go as fast as the slowest link :)

Also 2.5Mb (256KB) is normal speed for someone under STM... What time was the download and how big?

It was about 2gig and at about 3pm, at 4pm i tryed to redownload it and it was at 256kb.
