Hi, i have had Virgin installed and they did all the transfer for me from BT. They wired the virgin phone line into the house, set up broadband and TV. Is my BT line still active or has it been completely cancelled. I.e. would it still be possible to get broadband or phone through the BT line?

Thanks.

If you have ported your BT number to VM then the BT line will be in soft disconnect status, i.e. there will be a dial tone, but you won't be able to make calls or have broadband on the line.

If you dial 17070 you will see that the line has been allocated another number.

Hi Dave, thanks for that.

Does that mean i'm still paying BT line rental?

No your line rental with BT ceases when the number ports over. You will get a final bill from BT after a week or so.
