Hi
I'm on Virgins 20mbit (post code starts with SP2)
The last week I have been having connection issues. The cable modem keeps dropping out and the ready light starts flashing, sync is on the whole time.
Looking at the event log i see this repeatedly :
"No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out"
followed by :
"MAP w/initial maintenance region received"
after a while off that repeating it says :
"ToD request sent- No Response received"
It then goes thru the TFTP stuff and seems to come back to life.
Some times it happens every couple of hours, other times like this morning its happened 3 times in the last 20 minutes.
Modem Status :
Downstream Lock : Locked
Downstream Channel Id : 4
Downstream Frequency : 402750000 Hz
Downstream Modulation : QAM64
Downstream Symbol Rate : 5056.941 Ksym/sec
Downstream Interleave Depth : taps32Increment4
Downstream Receive Power Level : 7.2 dBmV
Downstream SNR : 37.4 dB
Upstream Lock : Locked
Upstream Channel ID : 1
Upstream Frequency : 25800000 Hz
Upstream Modulation : QPSK
Upstream Symbol Rate : 2560 Ksym/sec
Upstream transmit Power Level : 42.0 dBmV
Upstream Mini-Slot Size : 2
Anyone know whats happening, I want to know what to say when I call up, should i be pushing for a new modem or eng visit?
Up until now the connection has been solid for months, only going down when some idiot down the road pulled my cable out of the street cab.
