Is there work going on in the Warrington, Cheshire area over the last few days?

I'm geting just 1.42Mb/s now...yesterday only half that download speed!...it's been really crappy. I've rebooted my modem and then router a few times.

I pay for a 10MB connection!!!

Manchester have a speedtest server? How do you connect to that? Oh right, just been added.
I'm in Liverpool and it's all fine here.

Seems okay for me as well, in the Latchford area. Broadband L through a wireless router.

Ok, I pgoned up CS Friday and to be fair I had no issues with them sorting the problem. I nice lady took mt details, pinged my modem, answered my questions with ease (no BS detected!), asked me to unpluf my internal network (my wording) form the modem and pinged it again.
She then proceeded to explain that my modem is experiencing packet loss, and swiftly proceeded to book and engineer for Monday morning, 8-12.

Since the call I've not detected any issues in browsering speed... on Sat I did a few speedtests.net and well into 3Mb...although still slower than the purchased/advertised 10Mb...it's still useable! (50Mb, why bother! lol ;)).

Here's my latest speedtest.net

I do find it suspicous that as soon as I call the the problem seems somewhat lesser...but still notwhere near 10Mb...plus an engineer offered and book....hmmm

Good service! *cough - who said that! ;) :)

ok, the VM engineer (Colin) popped in this morning, (11am, with a 8-12 morning session booked).

He replaced the modem with a newer smaller, black VM branded modem.

He said he needed to tweak the power in the road, it was set too much. But before that he tried a speedtest on the IP: http://82.15.207.2/speedtest/login.php
He checked the site again after 5mins in the road, then off he went. Total onsite about 15mins, inc 5 in the road.

speedtest.net show my speed as much improved:

yeah! very happy with VM :D
