Might be a first, but after reading so much bad stuff about Virgin I was really wary about going with them. As I didn't have much choice (prev owner had Virgin, BT wanted £125 to reconnect) I got a package including 20mb.

And so far everything's been great. They sorted out the mess the previous owner had left (hadn't cancelled contract, leaving us in limbo). After that was done they installed swiftly (instead of the 2 weeks in the website they did it in 5 days), coming on a Sat morning and doing the job impeccably.

Engineer said we'd get around 17/18mb speed which is what we are getting (speedtest gives me a constant 17.5mb) which is close enough to 20mb so I'm happy with it.

And finally the dreaded STM. Well maybe it helps that I come home after work/gym around 7pm everyday (but I got a flatmate that is there all day as he works from home), but we never come close to it and its 3 of us in the house. And after 9pm its uncapped anyways, so if I need to download something I just leave it for then.

So all in all very happy with my broadband! :dunce:

Must say I am happy with my speeds apart from a year of oversubsciption but since been on 50Mb great speeds going to back to 20Mb 2morrow so speeds should be ok as I have seen the usage report for my UBR not even hitting 60% port usage.

Got to say I'm happy with my 20Mb. Seems to have improved since the 50Mb rollout. Interestingly rhough, 50Mb not available in my area yet.

Hi, Ive viewed this forum for ages so thought it was time I joined ;)

In fairness to VM and even back in the NTL days, I have never once had a problem with any of their services.

Our original installation was 100% and all three of my services have never once decided to give bother. Only thing I have an issue with is the VM stb's which are deadly slow when browsing through channels.

Upgraded to the 50mb broadband the other day and just waiting for the engineer to come out and install it now. Living close to the exchange Ive always got close to the advertised speeds. At the moment im on 20mb and it holds steady at around 19.5mb.

Had virgin XL for roughly 1w now and loving it every minute! I live 2,4km from my phone exchange and had no chance of getting speeds over 3Mbit with any DSL ISPs.

Look at my results now! Thanks VM:)
