Post what modem you have and your power levels from your config pages of your modem. The should be a sticker on the bottom saying what model.

If using an Ambit modem please click here
http://root:root@192.168.100.1/CmOpConfig.asp

If using any other modem click here
http://192.168.100.1/

What I want you to post is the Downstream power levels including the SNR and the Upstream power levels for me thanks.

DO NOT POST YOUR MAC ADDRESS OR SERIAL NUMBER

Hi,

I think that you'll find that it's a problem with the speedtest.net website. I'm in PO8 and get similar results using that test and speed.io. If you use the test on this forum or the thinkbroadband (formerly adslguide) tests, the results show normal speeds.

Take a look at http://speedchecker.org/?result=9831612956900f8519b2e71bea133995 - the results for me are good, I think it's fairly under utilised compared to most test sites.

no, that test gives the same speed as a download from microsoft also from virgin and also if i try to stream SD iplayer it freezes. It is being really slow today.

Just so you know i'm not an IT novice, so I have done all the things to rule out a problem at home. Must just be busy in my area tonight.

only if you have the 50mbit modem, the other modems max out at around 35 ~ 38mbit

I'm in PO9 and getting dire speeds.

Having spoken to support, they confirmed that there is a fault in the area but they can't say what it is (they don't know) and can't give an eta for a fix.

Utter crap.
