View Full Version : I never see 10meg on Speedtest.net
Ever since I got the free M to L free upgrade I have never seen a reported or even close to 10 meg whenever I test the speed on Speedtest.net.
If I were to use http://myspeed.visualware.com/index.html or http://numion.com/ I often see speeds that would relate to the upgrade, but never on that speedtest.net.
By the way is this normal on the modem log info
Acquire a Downstream Channel 331000000 Hz Locked
i have stopped using speedtest.net because i find the results unreliable and inaccurate
i use the virgin site now http://gamefiles.virginmedia.com/
just download one of the demos this will give you a better idea of your speed

If it appears to perform as 10Mbit should apart from a single type of speedtest (Ookla Net Metrics) it really doesn't matter.

And how do I know if it appears to perform as such??
Speedtest.net always has been a bit flaky..
currently though working for me but wasn't last week (giving me half speeds)

Since I downloaded the TCPOptimizer it seems to give correct results now.
