Excessive cola consumption can lead to anything from mild weakness to profound muscle paralysis, doctors are warning

Yep somehow scientists have managed to work out that drinking up to 10 litres of very sugary caffeine each day might not be the best idea in the world.

Next up they examine the effect of removing the head from a living human body to see if there are any side effects.

Apparently an Australian was drinking 4 - 10 litres of the stuff each day. Drinking 4 - 10 litres of anything is going to make you feel unwell - even water.

How did he manage 10l a day though? I'd be peeing for Australia at that point if i were him...

I also recall waching HOW2 (Or w/e it was called) and they left a tooth in coke overnight, only to come back to a severely damaged tooth.

I believe that to be an urban myth....

Snopes (http://www.snopes.com/cokelore/tooth.asp)

The experiment was on Brainiac Science Abuse, and I believe it showed the tooth discoloured, not dissolved.

Even 5 litres of Coke would mean either consuming 15 cans (330ml) or 10 bottles (500ml). Thats a hell of a lot of coke to be consuming a day!

Trying to work out how anyone can twist that old proverb of 'a little of what you fancy does you good' to 'overindulgence in what you fancy must be even better'.

You mean, you tried this at home?

Does it unscrew or something?

Apparently the self-experimentation led to total cessation of brain stem activity.....

They really did drop me on my head (arguing about who was going to hold me) but that's a different accident.

They should do an experiment to find out why it just tastes so perfect sometimes, especially in a tall glass, with ice. ;)

I can imagine the conversation.....

"You have him!"

"No, you have him!"

No, you have him!"

"No, you hav...... oops! - quick, pick him up and wipe the blood off his head, no one will notice. It probably won't affect him......."
