Here is a Link (http://www.dealextreme.com/) to a site in Hong Kong which do free airmail shipping although the shipping cost is obviously added to the prices, heavy items don't offer much in the way of savings but most of the items are relatively light and could cost you less than normal UK shipping charges alone.
A friend tried them out ordering some ipod earphones for US$ 7.00, they came in 2 weeks and he was really pleased with them. Even if you don't order anything it is quite interesting viewing all the products.

I have just started to have a browse around the site and already earmarked half a dozen items. It certainly stocks eclectic range of products.

Thanks for the link slowcoach.

Just be careful that you don't get caught with extra customs applied tax for imports. Not sure what the threshold is.

If it's the one I think it is Cobby I paid £11+ for the same one late last year and it's made by Belkin.

Well my shopping basket with all the items so far is under £25 so I should be OK. :)

Here is a Link (http://customs.hmrc.gov.uk/channelsPortalWebApp/channelsPortalWebApp.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=pageLibrary_ShowContent&propertyType=document&id=HMCE_PROD1_028770) to current import taxes threshold, please read all the page.

As the shipping is included all you would have to do is make separate purchases to ensure you kept within the threshold, providing no single item took you over.

I'm sure if you bought things from this (http://www.dealextreme.com/products.dx/category.829) page of that site, then you might run into some trouble importing it...

I have 2 Romisen RC-G2 (http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.3607)
Uses 1 AA battery, good throw of white light.
very strong metal casing. you would have to read the reviews to get an idea of which one's best.

Just Googled it, thats a MONSTER of a Light.

Can anyone recommend any other Flash Light thats BRIGHT & Small (not like Lord Nikon's lol). Like you see Police use in TheBill or in 24? Pocket size but GREAT Light Beam....

I have the 1million candle lights, but needed a small pocket thing.

try the Maglite Solitaire LED or the Mini Mag LED, as well as the LED bulb it can be changed out to a halogen bulb at the expense of battery life, plus the beam can be focussed and even the LED bulb is visible for over a mile.

Yup, me too.

I keep one by the bed in case of intruders (I was using it to see who it was, honest your honour...;)), and one in the garage.

Maglites are awesome. I know a few Greenbelt stewards who have those, a couple have 6 D-cell Maglites, which would be classed as an offensive weapon if used on the streets! I'm on the lookout for one of them 4 cell Maglites with the LEDs. Do you get good battery life out of it?

I should point out that there are extensions for those that pump them out to an 8 D-cell Maglite, which is definitely overkill and definitely illegal!

Had it for about 2 years, use it regularly, original energizer batteries that came with it. need I say more?

by the way you can get the LED bulb replacement to change the standard maglite to the LED version online pretty cheap.

The Fenix torches are superb. Small size and a nice bright beam that goes a fair distance.

On a (slightly) related note. Linky (http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2009/06/nec-widescreen-display/)

"NEC’s latest desktop display is a curved beauty of Amazonian proportions. The 43-inch ultrascreen desktop display, called NEC CRV43 , has a 10,000: 1 contrast radio and a 2880 x 900 double WXGA native resolution.
The display provides a wider field of view for its users, said NEC. “It has a greater dynamic range with its resolution and 32:10 aspect ratio,” said NEC in a statement. The display claims super-fast response time of 0.02 milliseconds"

On a cheaper note. If any one wants a cheap design tablet I can recommend the one I picked up from Asda this morning. On sale at £15 the Trust Slimline Design Tablet TB 5300 is worth trying out. I'm having great fun putting it through its paces. :)

I'm on the site at the moment but it took ages to load and seems quite sluggish.

To save time wading through the site you may like to go straight to the...Customer Service Express: Cancel for Refund/Store Credit page here (http://services.dealextreme.com/forms/ChangeOrder.aspx?type=Cancel).
