Scientists have found that a bacon sarnie is just the thing for a hangover. (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/scienceandtechnology/science/sciencenews/5118283/Bacon-sandwich-really-does-cure-a-hangover.html)

When not testing how sheep slide over various surfaces (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/03/12/daftness_rewarded_during_national_science/) they are doing life changing research like this, isn't science wonderful!

Now where's the Branston brown sauce <hic> :D

I've always put it down to the salt intake.

Cup of tea usually helps too. Strong, a little sugar in it, milk. But a bacon sarnie ANY time of day is the way forward. :D

Banana is very common with meat in South Africa, even Wimpy sells a burger with banana on it..and lots of places sell the bacon and banana toastie... The saltier the bacon the better it goes with banana

The other thing they're fond of in SA is putting melted cheese on top of everything, especially airline food.

On the subject of bacon sarnies I made one for lunch before and realised I'd made a grave error in using a pair of scissors to cut off the rind.. they had previously been used for cutting dirty things in the garden. Thank you whoever put those back in the cutlery drawer!

See, I'd just rather have a nice greasy 'Full English' with extra black pud, a mug of 'Builders Tea' and slightly burnt toast and marmalade. Put the blood sugar through the roof and a right good lining on the stomach :P

I would have that but grilled and with mushrooms and potato cakes plus two eggs with runny yolks shallow poached so you just taste the egg not the fat plus 2/3 toast but no marmalade ( diabetic ).

If your feeling adventurous try mexican bacon , you won't be complaining of a hangover.

A bacon sarnie and a strong cup of tea always helps me :)

Plenty of water before bed helps as well.

I've had a heavier than normal weekend so started tried it all this weekend and it always works.

Same here, as does eating with the first drink and having a soft drink inbetween pints.
