is this true? has anyone verified it yet?
If bored later I will go out and buy one and let you all know later!! :)
Why not buy one, take it apart and find out?
My dad's got one of those in his shed, I'm going down there this afternoon, I'll get handy with the pliers and report back....

Been doing it for years, when I was a kid we used to pinch the flashing lights from the side of the road when they were doing roadworks:shocked::shocked: we used the big batteries to power our space invader games machines via 2 wires inserted into the power socket until one lad took one battery to pieces to discover loads of AA batteries inside one big lantern battery, these batteries powered our space invader machines.:D:D:D

You do it Russ, will save me 6 dollars!;)
Im intrigued to know now.
Uh oh..... http://www.snopes.com/photos/humor/batteryhack.asp
Erm that is BS a 6Volt battery that has 32 1.5Volt battery's would ve 48 volts
I've seen several "battery hacks" on you tube, DON'T open batterys
Why would they put 32x1.5v = 48v to make up 6v?
and besides that they're not even wired up to each other. they just all drop out :)

They would be wired in series-parallel. I suggest you know what you're talking about before posting :D Anyone with electronics knowledge would know this is entirely possible.
Yep, 4 batteries in series make up the 6v, so 8 of these quad sets in parallel would make up 6v with a higher AH rating ;)
