I use a Mach 3 Turbo as well. The new orange Gillette ones are way more expensive and don't really do any more so I haven't upgraded.

I looked into this recently. "Which" came up with the Gillette Mach 3 Turbo as the best buy. Although the Wilkinson quattro came close second.

My bikini line has never been smoother....;)

Wilkinson sword quatro titanium but the razor is only part of the solution, I use the razor with shaving oil for an extremely close shave, closer than I get with gel.

I like the Gillette Agile razors which are disposables, but shave as good as any other I've ever used - and cost half the price ;)

I'm not a fan of the turbo razors - seem more like a gimmick.

Wilkinson Sword Quatro Titanium for me.

Same here, but it depends on your stubble, mines very tough and the mach 3 does the bizz,

Got to be used with this though - https://www.lush.co.uk/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=745&category_id=501&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=80

Gillette Fusion for me to but for the price the ones I've been getting lately have been a bit rubbish tbh. What a great thread to find so I can now see other peoples opions of other razors out there.

I used to take part in trials for Wilkinson Sword as the factory wasn't very far from where I worked.

I would to get two disposable razors a week. You had to shave one side of your face with one and the other side with the second, then tick a box to say which you preferred. Most of the time I couldn't tell any difference.

Saved a fortune on razors though.

Gillette Mach 3 turbo for me now.

Using the Wilkinson sword Quattro w/ Titanium blades.

My beard is like wiremesh however... So...

I use a Gillette Fusion. I find it dead smooth, and the fact that it's the only razor I've owned... So I can't comment on others.

As long as my face has had a good wash. Plenty of hot water. And freezing cold water to clean the blade (Platoon - Hygene in the heat, great advice) I can shave with anything. Also, loads of ice cold water to finish, stops me getting burn.

Been using Gillette Fusion for a few years, I like the precision blade for under the nose, what the five blades do or don't do, I have no idea. It works for me.

I don't need aftersahve, but I can use it if needed, at the moment I have some Joop aftershave balm, seems OK, stings a bit, and then that is that, face is sound.

Mach 3 for me also, I refuse to be suckered into getting an "even closer" shave with the latest 5, 6, 7, or 20 blade razor, 3 blades is enough for me.:)

Unfortnately I've been a Gillette whore for years and now I'm a Fusion whore.

I really need to break that habbit...

At Christmas I was inches away from buying one of these:

I've always thought the Mach 3 was the closest shave you could get - anything made after that was close as well but more based on comfort.

And all this 'power' rubbish - the battery razors cut me to shreds as well as my wallet.

With replacement blades:

http://www.mankind.co.uk/Stainless-Platinum-Safety-Razor-Blades-10-Pack-PRODMEAC1/

Easily the closest shave that I've ever had - I'll be honest though and say that I did look like I'd been attacked by Freddy Kruger the first few times I used it (it's a scarily close shave), but I'm sort of getting used to it now and hardly ever cut myself at all.

Very important to use a high quality shaving cream and oil to protect the skin during shaving though :tu:

There's an old fashioned barbers shop in Brighton with the old red and white rock stick outside, and now and then I'll go in and have a shave.
First thing they do is have you sit back then wrap your face in a hot damp towel, after a few minuets they mix up the foam and put it on with a brush, then the best bit out comes the old cut-throat razor.
Once they've finished your face is dabbed with hot towels then you get the moisturizer and choice of aftershave, its pure luxury, the closest shave ever the only drawback is that it costs £14.95 each time.
A nice treat on a Saturday morning though while the wife is in Waitrose, one problem though is going out looking like a vagrant with two days growth...well you want your moneys worth, don't you?:)

Unreal, I did post "Has anyone paid for a shave" I was seeding, and it didn't post, so I cancelled it, then you post that, the answer to the question I never asked, you ESP thing you.

I was even going to ask, wonder if it is worth growing it for a week or so to reap the benefit, spooky! I was even on Amazon checking out Cut throats! They do a pearl one, over £100. What I was going to ask as well, do they play Italian Opera, and when the hot towel is on, is there the sense you could get whacked at any moment (or splurged)

To get a good shave you need to steer clear of foams and gels, they clog your razor up. Since I've been off the foams and gels my face has improved 100%, I know use a soap free shaving lotion I find these don't dehydrate my skin therfore leaving me with a smooth soft face, I also like to nake sure the shaving lotion has got aloa vera in it, I find this helps with razor glide giving me a closer shave and not clogging up my razor.

I use this gel, it's £2 from ASDA http://www.somersets.com/images/3d/gel/gel_sensitive.png

It has a moving head and a aloevera pad thing that helps smooth the shave.

Oh and then after that I use a soothing balm.

Best shaving cream? I've said it before and I'll say it again, has to be Lush's Shaving The Planet. (https://www.lush.co.uk/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=745&category_id=501&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=80) As is usually the case with Lush it's expensive but brilliant.

Quattro is Italian for four. I can never understand Wilkinson aiming a special brand especially at four legged woman:confused:

Unless it's aimed at woman who only shave in the back seats of particular model of automobile ;)

or two legged woman who share their razor with a friend:erm: Was that not a scene from a film that Jacqui Smith's husband watched on demand?
