I'm gonna have mine with my Tate & Lyle Golden Syrup Ice cream. It's mmmmmmylicious.

I will also do one by rolling marscapone cheese and nutella inside it.

I don't mind pancakes with savoury toppings too - like a pizza.

Anyway whats the difference between a crepe and a pancake? apart from the spelling?

I never read the newspaper when I'm having a pancake, but often do when......;)

I think a crepe is a thin pancake. Can't stand either of them. They're acceptable with cheese and bacon, but other than that...

The price mainly, pancake costs pence to make in you're own home and a crepe costs about £6 :(

Anyhoo looks like we have quite a few t0ssers round here

I've just made a batch for the kids, who are now in bed - so it's time to start round 2, and this time they're all mine (well I'll let Mrs T have a few as well).

Had ours - a batch served with a smoked mackerel and a horseradish sauce followed by another served traditionally with sugar/lemon juice and raspberry/strawberry coulis. Yummy...... :)

Maple syrup is preferable though I will eat them with sugar or lemon, but never together.
Does anyone know why they are eaten with lemon & sugar? The thought of sweet and bitter/sour just doesn't seem right to me.

Well I'm off for some more. Bon appetit all :)

We're having Nutella on ours tonight

Lemon & sugar is boring, IMO.

The Polish contingent in R&D at work celebrated Fat Thursday last week, which sounds very similar, but involves stuffing your face with doughnuts rather than pancakes.

reading on wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pancake_day), apparently in the UK we are supposed to put meat in them?

"In the United Kingdom, Shrove Tuesday is often known colloquially as Pancake Day or Pancake Tuesday. The traditional pancake is slightly thicker than a French crêpe. It is served immediately after preparation and was traditionally served with a meat-based stew..."

I've had bolgnese mince/sauce in them before, it's actually rather nice :)

Will be having plain old lemon and sugar tonight though as we missed out last night.

Unfortunately I didn't get round to making any last night due to work, so I will be having Shrove Saturday morning instead.

Buy them ready made next year mate. ;) Did you try to make them with a mix or did you start from scratch?
