View Full Version : Speed Test for new Broadband
I've recently had my Broadband package upgraded from 'M' to 'L'
Can anyone advise in detail what check I can make to ensure I am actually getting the new 10mb speed thru my PC.
Broadband issues seem to be the flavour of the month so far.
:erm: Look up the screen a couple of inches and hit the 'Speed Test' link? That's a good start.
Thanks for that, I've run a quick test on my works PC and it comes back just over 12MB so I'll repeat the same test when I get home later

Your Maximum Downstream Data Rate should read 1024000.
Thanks for the info my wife will be pleased as she has said for a while how slow the 2mb had become.

I upgraded online the other day from 2 to 10 mbps. Why is it though that I have slower speeds now than before upgrade
Size M - 2059 kbps
Size L - 1700 - 2800 kbps approx
Very rarely do I get 5mbps or above when running a speed test.
The figures in the modem config page are
Network Access : Allowed
Maximum Downstream Data Rate : 10240000
Maximum Upstream Data Rate : 512000
Maximum Upstream Channel Burst : 1600
