Hiya,

When I first moved into my house I was told we had to have a new cable put in place as there was no cable coming into the house and this was done downstairs with no problem. However I have been thinking recently about hooking my upstairs telly up to either cable or freeview and had a hunt around. Coming out the wall is a cable - now I always thought this was for an outside Ariel however I tracked the cable to my loft and found it goes into a wee box that says NTL on it and then goes away to the other side of the loft.

Any ideas if I got another box from virgin would I be able to hook it up to that cable and that would be that. I suppose what I really want to do is get a V+ downstairs and a new box upstairs with the minimum of fuss and drilling :)

You think that cable is still operational - or can be used again?

The engineer that will install the second box will make sure it works. Even if the existing cable doesn't, I'm sure they would be able to replace it without having to redrill.
