First my sister has left her husband taking the kids with her. within an hour of being told that, I hear that my aunt has died of heart attack, and now my N95 has got a blank screen with no display :td:

Sorry to hear that Gary, but I don't think the problem with your N95 qualifies as a serious contender for it to be No.3

Sorry to hear your news.

Have you tried a hard reset on the phone?

1) Turn it off

2) Press down *, 3 and green (call)

3) While all 3 are pressed, switch phone on.

4) Watch as it formats everything, and makes your phone like new! :p:

(You need flexible fingers :D)

Done that. waiting for it to reboot now.

4) Watch as it formats everything, and makes your phone like new! :p:

Now she tells me after I follow steps 1 to 3 :)

I did all that earlier but it didn't help. I took it all apart and cleaned it up a bit. put it back together and it worked.
lost everything when I didn't have to. I was going to buy a new one so I saved some money anyway.

(You need flexible fingers :D)

I've got them. what else do I need? ;)
