Looks like certain chocolate items have been withdrawn:

"This is a first. We've never had to put out an alert before on willy spread, chocolate-flavoured or otherwise."

All the offending items, imported from Chinese manufacturer Le Bang, were found to contain melamine at levels "100 times greater than limits set by the European commission". Specifically, tests showed they packed up to 259 milligrams per kilo, way over the 2.5 milligram per kilo limit.

Melamine, traditionally used to create durable dishware and clear resins, has been used in recent years to produce consumable products. The results have been damaging. In September 2008, nearly 53,000 infants in China fell ill after the compound was found in baby formula and milk products.
