Ok so when i download files or alot of computers are connection requesting or downloading information at the same time at the high speed the internet connection always kicks out and the only way to get it back again is to unplug the modem and plug it back in and this has been happening for far too long now to be forgettable. using a Belkin F5D8233 router but that shouldnt be the problem.

im on ex ntl service. should be 10mb but im getting 500/600kps on download and here is the modem info which is still the ntl modem in the guildford area.

Downstream Lock : Locked
Downstream Frequency : 402750000 Hz
Downstream Modulation : 256 QAM
Downstream Receive Power Level : 6.68 dBmv
Downstream SNR : 35.19 dB
Upstream Frequency : 18384000 Hz
Upstream Transmit Power Level : 58.00 dBmv

please help! :(

The upstream power level is to high my guess is it climbs to 60/61 then the modem reboots and throws you of the net .I take it its a ntl home 100/120/200 the silver ones :)

yes it is NedKelly one of those modems, is there a newer modem that can be requested from VM that would fix the problem?

Yes there is, it will be an Ambit 256.

As axe grinder has said it is the 256 they might send one in the post if you ring faults or send a tech out :)
