Now, i must start of this topic by saying im no expert in the slightest, just a few things could do with clearing up for me, and perhaps others...
Firstly a quote from http://www.telegraph.co.uk/connected/main.jhtml?xml=/connected/2008/07/04/dlvirgin104.xml
"
The British Phonographic Industry is proactively pursuing illegal downloaders and file sharers. It uses the same peer-to-peer network used by pirates to upload dummy song files to the P2P service, and then captures the computer IP address of the people who download the file. That information is passed on to the individual's internet service provider, who may then choose to send an advisory letter to the customer."
Ok, ....how is it illegal to download a dummy song and how would they prove you had the intent to download the actual one?
Isn't this what the police would call entrapment?
Now, i havent received one of these letters from VM but was just interested for the sake of anyone that did.
Feel free to point out my obvious stupidity, but i'll still thank you for answering :)
