Hello I have been having a lot of trouble with my broadband speed as of the last 3 weeks. I am on the virgin media (L) package still 4mb not been upgraded yet. Before these last 3 weeks my internet has always been smooth and working well for both my pc and my xbox360 but now it isslow for both. When i finaly got round to doin some tests i found i had a very high ping on the speed website speedtest.net and getting on average around a quarter of my 4mb connection so when i tried to ping or tracert bbc.co.uk in command the requests failed every time at this point i rang vm tech support. They went through the normal script of blurb they say and connected to my modem etc saying nothing was wrong. So after they could find nothing wrong they told me to check my security settings. I hadnt changed these myself in the last 3 weeks and had always worked perfectly before. Low and behold i turned both of my firewalls off and it improved the ping and when i got rid of vm pc guard my ping seemed to improve to normal levels and i was now able to ping and tracert bbc.co.uk. I found that i sometimes got a few asterix on tracert and sometimes 25% packet loss on my ping. I use a linksys router but i direct connected modem to pc and still had the same problems so i think i can count the router out also used different ethernet cables. My friend lives in the same village on the same speed package gets normal results for his connection. Anyway as this is getting tediusly long for anyone who reads it i will post some results down that u normaly ask for and any feedback will be greatfull. Oh also it sometimes thinks i am from ireland for some strange reason i get random adverts for ireland and when i go to say www.google.com it sends me to google.ie not google.co.uk

Any help will be great thanx! and sorry for making it so long and boring.

The above power levels are spot on if you continue to have issues you would be best to call Tech Support on 151 at any time as they are open 24/7 ring when you have the problem.
